Corporate culture is not a single issue.

Your corporate culture is defined by many dimensions. Ultimately, it is a set of widely held beliefs and attitudes toward:
  • success and failure
  • competition and cooperation
  • accountability
  • creative freedom
  • personal freedom (dress code, flex time, etc.)
  • productivity
  • fun
As you examine the above components of corporate culture, you will notice the tension between opposites: success and failure, competition and cooperation, accountability and freedom, and productivity and fun. The secret is in how companies successfully resolves this tension.

These corporate culture components are extremely challenging, and will require a concerted effort by many parties to be resolved.

Are there any other components which need to be addressed? Add them to the list.
